Miley Cyrus Defends Using Little People in Concert: "We're Making Them Feel Sexual and Beautiful"

It's not degrading, it's cute and sexy!



In a new interview with MSNBC's Ronan Farrow, Miley Cyrus defended her use of little people and black backup dancers on her Bangerz tour. The 21-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer denied recent criticism that her show is racist and exploitative.



"It's really funny how serious people take it. And they're like, you're racist. And I'm like, 'Really?'" she told Farrow. "We're like a bunch of kids dancing around in, like, bears, but we don't do choreography," she says of performing with her backup dancer. "They're just like dancing, doing these cute moves and they're awesome dancers like just on their own. It's not me telling them how to be."



As for the claims that she's exploiting little people? Cyrus said she doesn't worry about that. "No, because we're making them feel sexual and beautiful," she explained. Citing one of her female little person dancers, the "Wrecking Ball singer explained: "We're all about lifting her up and making her feel so sexy all the time, and having her dance -- she's actually an awesome dancer."

Farrow, 26, also interviewed one of Cyrus' former backup dancers, Hollis Jane, who recently spoke out about feeling "degraded" while wearing a bear costume at the singer's 2013 VMAs performance. Jane said she's not blaming Cyrus, but explained: "Little people need to stop being seen, in my opinion, in the media as jokes."



Rather than getting worked up about the criticism trailing her Bangerz tour, Cyrus revealed to Ronan that she's been spending her free time watching her favorite movie, 1990's Days of Thunder, starring Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman. "I watched it three nights in a row" she confessed of the racing flick, which introduced the couple to one another. "I want to be Nicole Kidman so bad, slash I'm kind of obsessed and kind of want to -- I don't know if I want to be Nicole Kidman or if I want to be Tom Cruise, because his outfits are better."

Harry has repeatedly dissed Kendall by refusing to return her phone calls or text messages now that the two are no longer together, a source close Kendall revealed to In Touch.











Kendall is beside herself as a result of the distance and lack of communication between her and Harry. The source said Kendall’s “heartbroken” and has repeatedly called big sis Khloe in tears.



In an even bigger slap in the face to Kendall, Harry has said that the two of them could still hang out if Kendall wanted, but again refused to return her calls or text messages.





Things got pretty awkward when both Harry and Kendall showed up to see Miley Cyrus’ concert at the Staples Center in LA on Feb. 22.



“Kendall looked really upset when she left the show,” the source said. But Harry was said to have “looked energized” according to an eyewitness at the concert, reports In Touch.



Seems like Harry has moved on and left Kendall to pick up the pieces. Maybe one day he’ll stop dissing her and pick up the phone.

Sources connected to the couple tell TMZ ... Paula Patton felt "utterly disrespected" when Robin virtually simulated sex with Miley the night of the VMAs. Pop's reigning queen has cleaned up with her Las Vegas residency, Britney: Piece of Me, which opened Dec. 27 and has grossed $10.9 million to date, according to Caesars Entertainment. All 16 performances through Feb. 22 were sold out (72,000 tickets total).





Although some music pundits were skeptical about Spears' Vegas prospects leading up to her debut at Planet Hollywood's Axis theater, many fears were put to rest once the femme fatale thundered through a dazzling first performance before fans such as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez.



The fact that she's struck a chord with Sin City audiences is no surprise, says Keith Caulfield, Billboard's associate director of charts.



"It should be selling out," says Caulfield, noting the venue's small size (4,600 capacity) compared to the "10,000-, 15,000-, 20,000-seat arenas that would sell out" on tour. And with 98 shows sprinkled out over two years, "she's not playing every night, so there's going to be a fair number of fans planning their Vegas trip this summer or later this year (around) Britney. You can't just assume that all of Britney's diehard fans flew to Vegas in the period of two or three months."



Since December, Spears' residency has been the top-searched topic on Vegas.com, says Jennifer Whitehair, the site's content director, adding that the big numbers make sense given Vegas' shifting demographics.



"(Fans) really got what they wanted to see from her," Whitehair says. "It's a huge audience that's been underserved in Vegas for a while, this younger demographic, so you're going to continue to see interest in shows like Britney" and other "club-like" entertainment.



But could ticket sales slip as initial chatter dies down (her next show isn't until April 25) and new residencies open up shop on the Strip? Not likely, Caulfield says, given that people who wouldn't come to Vegas specifically to see Britney are still likely to buy her tickets through a concierge or broker once they get there.



"It's not necessarily front-loaded," he says. "It'll probably still continue to do well and continue to sell out, that's the assumption."

Miley Cyrus shuts down rumor I wasn't even aware of about Playing Tinker Bell in NBC’s Peter Pan

Raunchy pop star Miley Cyrus is busy kissing Katy Perry, simulating masturbation on stage, and (of course!) endlessly sticking out her tongue as she treks the country with her Bangerz tour. Still, the 21-year-old former child star took some time out on February 24 to shut down tabloid rumors that she’ll play Tinker Bell in the planned NBC live broadcast of Peter Pan.



”I would rather choke on my own tongue,“ Cyrus tweeted alongside a pic of a recent Star magazine item purporting that she is excited to don fairy wings on live TV because it’s her “dream role.”



By the way, the stage version of Peter Pan doesn’t have an actor playing Tinker Bell. The magical character is represented by a little flash of light and tinkling music. Also, to choke on one’s tongue, it would have to be in one’s mouth.



Peter Pan Live! is set to air on NBC on December 4.

According to the webloid, Duff has “found new love after her recent split from husband Mike Comrie,” having been “caught holding hands with a mystery man while they attended the Miley Cyrus concert Saturday night in Los Angeles.”

“And after the concert, Hilary and her new man looked even closer as they left the concert holding hands,” reports the blog, which claims, “It looks like Duff is moving on!”

While it may be a “mystery” to RadarOnline, the man who accompanied Duff to the Cyrus concert is Marcus Francis, her hairstylist.

Duff even posted am Instagram photo (below) of herself with Francis, who once tweeted “For the millionth time I’m a GAY HAIR STYLIST!.”

"Cheers from one dirrty girl to the next @MileyCyrus…wear em' loud & proud, girl- yes!!" Aguilera, 33, tweeted with a photo of Cyrus, 21, wearing red chaps with her name written down on leg.



The "Beautiful" singer was the first pop diva to make the fashion statement back in 2002 when her song "Dirrty" came out, wearing similar yellow leather chaps with "Xtina" written down the leg. Both ladies started their careers working for Disney, with Aguilera performing as a Mouseketeer and Cyrus as Hannah Montana.







Aguilera seems to have come a long way since her days of rebellion. In the past week, she announced the news of her engagement to boyfriend Matt Rutler, and Us Weekly exclusively broke the news of her second pregnancy on Feb. 20. ?

The mother of 6-year-old Max wasn't the only concert goer at last night's Los Angeles show. Cyrus infamously locked lips with Katy Perry, and the photo of the moment instantly went viral. Sky Ferreira Injured During Miley Cyrus’ BANGERZ Tour, Gets 60 Stitches

Sky Ferreira was seriously injured while performing her first show on Miley Cyrus’ BANGERZ tour in Anaheim, California on Thursday.



The singer posted a photo of herself being taken into an ambulance on a stretcher with her right leg bandaged up (see right).



Ferreira told fans, “I fell during the intro of the 1st song of the set. I ended up with 60 stitches & at the hospital for 7 hours.”



She revealed, “I didn’t even notice the injury until 10 minutes after I played because I had so much fun. I just figured it was some blood.”



Ferreira added that she’ll be okay to perform in the BANGERZ concert in Los Angeles on Saturday, writing, “I’m so excited to do the LA show tomorrow (despite the not so cool bandage around my leg). Thanks @mileycyrus for having me #ThePowerOfAdrenalin.”

Miley Cyrus 'Bangerz' Tour? It's Got Nothing On Madonna's MDNA

If Miley Cyrus thinks 'Bangerz' is contraversial she might want to watch Madonna's MDNA tour







Miley Cyrus might be making headlines with her ‘Bangerz’ tour, but the Queen of Pop Madonna might have something to say to anyone naming it the most controversial tour ever. Sure Miley has the parents up in arms, but it only takes a tweak for that to happen, back in 2012 Madonna pushed the boundaries of politics and freedom of speech on her infamous 'MDNA' tour.



In 2012 Madonna proved that entering her fifties could do nothing to tame her. The then 53 year old singer embarked on a world tour entitled ‘MDNA’ and faced controversy in France, Russia, UK and the United States over the show’s political themes, depictions of violence and, yes Miley, even nudity.



Most of Miley’s 'Bangerz' controversy centres around a Bill Clinton mask, a cannabis leotard and the kind of dancing we’ve come to expect from the girl who made twerking the buzz word of 2013. Let’s start with the Bill Clinton drama. Many of Miley’s fans might be too young to know who Monica Lewinsky is or be totally clued up on why the ex-President is so closely associated with cigars, but after viewing Miley’s on stage pictures they’ve probably wikipedia’ed it.



During her performance of ‘Party in the USA’, a man appears on stage in a Bill Clinton mask and Miley ‘simulates oral sex with him’. Outrageous? Not really. Desperate? Perhaps, after all she’s using an event that was made infamous well over 15 years ago to inject a bit of sexy humour into her show. But still, most of the parents complaining probably made a few Lewinsky jokes back in the day, so they should really be more offended that she couldn't pick a more current topic. Apart from the Clinton mask, the show’s other infamous prop is a giant hotdog. We’re not sure if that one’s intended along the same vein as the Clinton mask, or if its just a bit of silliness but all this is relatively tame compared to what Madonna was up to in 2012.







Madonna’s choice of controversial props during the 'MDNA' tour was fake firearms, which she performed with during the opening three songs. During one song, ‘Gang Bang’, the singer mimics shooting the male dancers whilst blood splatters on the backdrops. Madonna faced immediate criticisms for her depictions of weapons and violence and Scottish police even threatened to interrupt her show in Edinburgh. There would be further controversy after the 2012 shootings in Aurora, Colorado where Madonna was scheduled to perform. Despite calls to remove the segment from the show she went ahead as planned upsetting many members of the community. Another controversial element of the show was her use of a picture of French far right politician Marine Le Pen appeared on screen during a morphing segment with a swastika superimposed on her forehead. The french National Front threatened to sue the singer, and Le Pen’s supporters covered up tour posters with her campaign posters. Madonna would remove the swastika from the video instead replacing it with a question mark.



That wasn’t the only time Madonna got political during the tour. She would also urge fans to vote for Barrack Obama and pledge her support for Pussy Riot, who at the time had just been arrested. She would later don a balaclava, like the punk band, to perform ‘Like A Virgin’. However a major political theme of the concerts would be her support for LGBT rights. Before performances, pink wristbands were given to audience members, she would later ask for the wristbands to be raised when she made a speech stating, ‘I am here to say that the gay community and gay people here, and all around the world, have the same rights, to be treated with dignity, respect, tolerance, compassion, and love.’ Although the message was generally well received it brought her further controversy in Russia where anti-gay campaigners announced they’d sue her for $10.7 million, arguing that she was promoting "homosexual propaganda" , an illegal offence in the country.







For Miley, politics doesn't stretch much further than her support for the legalisation of marijuana, which she made clear in her recent interview with W Magazine. On the ‘Bangerz’ tour this stance is shown in her choice of leotard which bares a picture of a cannabis leaf. However there’s a lot more racy costumes to be seen in Miley’s show along with some equally risque dancing. On stage she’s groped a dancer’s behind, grabbed her crotch a lot, bared her bottom in some very high cut outfits and engaged in customary twearking. Some parents have gone so far as to label it a porn show. Clearly they weren't around when Madonna’s MDNA tour came to Istanbul in May 2012 and the singer flashed her breast during a performance of ‘Human Nature’. The action confused many as some worried about the repercussions due to Turkey’s largely Islamic population and others praised it because Madonna was 53 at the time - and what better age to flash at? Miley best remember that Madonna (literally) wrote the book on sex so she has a lot of catching up to do.



Something tells me that Miley is probably all too happy that her latest tour is causing controversy. Why not? That’s what her career has thrived on for the past year, but if she ever wants to create a real stir, she may have to call on the original bad girl Madonna for some ideas.

You shoot covers for women's and men's magazines. What is the difference between shooting for a men's magazine and women's magazine?

The amount of clothes you wear [laughs]. For a magazine like Cosmo, you wear short dresses and you have the one pose they make you do all the time and you smile and have the big hair. And then you're in Maxim and it's half the clothes. It's very different.

Some of the men's magazine shoots you've done are super-sexy. Do you see yourself as sexy?

Oh no, no. I really don't. I don't see myself as not-sexy, it's just not [one of] the top 40 adjectives I would use to describe myself. But I do see myself as confident, but if someone sees me as sexy I'm not going to argue that and say "no I'm not, you're crazy." I'll just say "thank you" politely.

Speaking of sexy, what's your ideal date night?

I'll tell you: we have a thing called white T-shirt night and it's when you wear jeans and a white T-shirt and you go on a date. Nothing fancy, it's just something that you love to do. And whether that's bowling or dinner or going to a cheese shop and have some wine or walking around. I think that's just the best thing to do — and sometimes it's just nice to stay home.

Have you met Jennifer Lawrence?

Yes.

And what was your experience with her like?

I don't discuss other people, just out of respect for what I would like them to do to me, you know?

OK. Miley Cyrus or Beyoncé?

Beyoncé. Nothing against Miley, but that's not a fair question. But I think Miley Cyrus would say Beyoncé, because Miley is awesome but she is also young and Beyoncé has proven herself.

Are you a fan of E!'s Fashion Police?

No, I don't care. I can honestly tell you that I respect E!, but I don't watch it.

What are your thoughts on red carpet outfit critiques in general?

You can't really concern yourself with constantly being bombarded with opinions, because everyone has got an opinion.

Are you going to the Oscars?

No.

What are your Oscars plans?

Not to be there. (Death!)

Are you going to watch them?

No. I respect the Oscars, I'm a part of the Academy, I vote every year — I love it but I'm usually, oddly, out of town, and then I get back and hear who wins and that's it.

Why did you decide to be the global spokesperson for Jim Beam?

They approached me and I gravitate toward companies that have a family-operated type of feel. When I met with everyone there I felt like I was a part of the company instead of just working for it, so it was a nice fit.

Kim Yuna is literally the Beyonce of figure skating. Why? Because they both win everything. The reigning Olympic champ and arguably the best figure skater ever has broke at least 52353243 records and won twice as many gold medals. Beyonce has won as many Grammys as Yuna has won medals in her career. Both have very dedicated and fucking psychotic fanbases in the Beyhive and the nation of South Korea respectively.



Unlike most of her other competition, Kim Yuna did not compete at the Team Competition because South Korea’s team is basically only her. So we actually don’t know have a good indication of how she’s gonna perform later on. However, I’m going to bet that she’ll destroy the competition just like Beyonce did when she released her album by surprise. All Hail Lord Satan Yuna.

Gracie Gold – Britney Spears

Gracie Gold is exactly like teenage Britney in 1999. Pretty, blonde, and seemingly extremely talented. Gracie is America’s Golden Girl for these Olympics and they are milking her good. She is sponsored by at least 50 Fortune 500 companies during these Olympics, so even if she flops miserably, she still gets mad money.

Much like Britney, in reality, her skills aren’t as good as her competitors. Even though America is propping her up to be the gold medalist (GOLD FOR GOLD I’M DYING ROFL!!) for individuals, she has as much of a chance as I do sitting here eating Cocoa Puffs. The best she can get on a good day is bronze unless everyone else literally dies on the ice. Poor Gracie Bronze-if-she’s-lucky.

Yulia Lipnitskaya – Our favorite senior citizen, Lorde

Yulia LeaderofthePack, the 10 15-year-old wunderkind has found her counterpart in 17-year-old artist Lorde. Both are super young and killing their respective games. The only difference is that one looks thrice her age and the other looks about 7 years old. Yulia Lisuckmadick has performed both her short program and free skate during the team competition and beat all the other girls by over 3000 points because she’s the OG figure skater. Also because she’s super flexible and hasn’t gone through puberty yet.

While researching Canadian skater Kaetlyn Osmond, I found multiple articles blasting her “risque” short program and calling her the Miley Cyrus of figure skating. After watching the super “risque” performance, I realized the only people who would call this risque would be people who live in cults where the women only wear long skirts and have ramen noodle hair (i.e. the Duggars). Korn Singer Jonathan Davis: Obama Used Miley Cyrus to Become Dictator

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis says that President Obama is using Miley Cyrus and other celebrities to distract the American people as he assumes dictatorial powers.



The musician was asked about the group’s new “Spike In My Veins” music video, which jumps between footage of sensational tabloid stories and issues including NSA surveillance and government intrusion on privacy.



“I think that our government uses [celebrities] to distract from what’s really going on,” explained Davis.



Then he got more specific.



Referring to Cyrus’ infamous VMAs appearance and the subsequent media storm, Davis offered this theory: “When that went down, Barack Obama passed a law that made him basically a dictator… he can imprison whoever he wants.”

That sleepover occurred just weeks after the two were photographed catching up at Clive Davis' pre-Grammys bash on Jan. 25. According to a second source, the 21-year-old "Adore You" singer and the 42-year-old Oscar-nominated Dallas Buyers Club star have "known each other for a while."



Recently, though, their bond has deepened, a third insider says. "They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music -- and they're both comfortable with nudity!"



Not so much with commitment, though. "Jared doesn't do girlfriends," a pal tells Us of the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman. Luckily for him, Cyrus, too, is just looking to have fun at the moment. "I'm, like, not trying to jump into a relationship," Liam Hemsworth's ex-fiancee told W.

People are trying to get Miley Cyrus' 'Bangerz' tour cancelled

If you haven’t already heard, Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz tour has been a little, well, uncomfortable for most.



Pictures and videos of Miley performing on stage in her usual provocative and crazy ways have been surfacing the internet, and parents who have taken their children to see the pop star's newest tour aren’t pleased at all. People should accept this from Miley, considering her most recent actions, and although her fans may love everything about what she’s doing because that’s who she is, parents are trying to have the tour cancelled.



MusicFix has exclusively learned that Miley’s management team has been getting a ton of complaints saying that she has taken it too far in her performance. So far, Miley has been on stage in a revealing body suit covered in marijuana leaves, riding a hot dog, pretending to give oral sex to a man in a Bill Clinton mask, basically pleasuring herself on top of a car and of course, twerking.



A source revealed to the site that, “Miley’s management have been flooded with complaints, mainly from parents, since her tour began last week in Canada, with calls for the entire tour to be axed.”



Her management team, record label and tour staff - which includes the director, costume department and choreographers - have all been called in for an emergency meeting because of the amount of people who want to pull she show.



One parent has even contacted the boss at Miley’s label, Interscope, saying that they had to walk out of the show way before it ended. They claimed that they would “not subject their nine-year-old to a porn show.” The tour has no age limit or rating guide, the only rule is that children are only allowed to attend if a parent accompanies them.



Since the show began, more and more people have been putting the tickets up on eBay and Stubhub after hearing what Miley has been doing on stage. But Miley is just trying to have fun.



Mercury News reports that Miley spoke about the tour in in a recent press teleconference saying, “I make my albums to be able to travel and to be able to go on the road. That’s really kind of what I love to do more than anything.”



She then went on to explain how she didn’t want to give away any surprises about the tour because “nothing in her life is ever a secret.” Her goal is to just keep the show really fun. “That’s what I think I’m kind of representing more than anything in the past year,” she said. “Fun and [being] carefree, and that’s what the show represents.”

Roberto Cavalli Slams Michael Kors: 'He Copies Everything'

In an interview with Haute Living Miami magazine, the Italian designer also expresses that "fashion is just about money now."







Roberto Cavalli isn't too pleased with Michael Kors, as he expressed his frustration with the American designer in an interview with Haute Living Miami magazine.



"Mr. Michael Kors, he copies everything!" expressed the outspoken Italian designer. "It's really a scandal and nobody has the courage to say anything. It's really not fair."



While Cavalli isn't happy with Kors' replicated clothing, he doesn't have an issue with fast fashion. "Now you have designers and you have Zara, which is meant to be fast and sold at a very cheap price, so you expect [copying]," said Cavalli, who launched a diffusion line, Just Cavalli, in 1998.



The famed designer -- who created a bevy of exclusive outfits for Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour -- also voiced that fashion is too focused on labels, rather than for its quality. "Labels shouldn't be important, it's about what you like. Take off the label," he said.



Cavalli added: "Fashion is just about money now. There's no evolution. In the 18th and 19th centuries, fashion used to completely change every 20 years. Totally new silhouettes, etc. Now, there is less creativity. There's been nothing truly new since the 1950s, except many sneakers."

Hopefully someone had some mouthwash backstage.



Always hungry (literally this time) to do something shocking, the ‘Bangerz’ singer stunned the audience at her Tacoma concert on Feb. 16 when she a fan threw a thong on stage and she put it in her mouth.



A fan managed to snap a picture of the naughty act, which shows Miley in a backwards cap, wrapping the thong around her microphone and wrapping her lips around it. Excuse us for a minute, we’re going to go throw up.



Though it was totally gross, it was certainly an interesting way for Miley to handle a fan throwing her thong on stage. And the thong-in-mouth moment obviously had fans gasping.
