Lily Allen on New Touring Partner Miley Cyrus: 'She's meant to be up there doing that."

mileylily5

The U.K. pop star says of the Bangerz tour, "It's one of the best shows that I've seen in years."

Last May, Lily Allen called Miley Cyrus a "fearless bitch" during her first New York performance in five years; less than three months later, the British singer will join Cyrus' Bangerz tour as the opening act on a select number of dates. Before she hits the road with Cyrus on Aug. 1, Allen tells Billboard that she couldn't be happier to join such a stellar arena spectacle.

"I saw it at the O2 in London [in May], and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best shows that I've seen in years," says Allen. "It's up there with an Oasis show or the Stone Roses or something. It's kind of incredible to watch -- she's a real force. There's no two ways about it, she's meant to be up there doing that."

Allen adds that the Bangerz tour stage production is impressive, but even without the bells and whistles, the "Wrecking Ball" star would be able to pull off an unforgettable pop experience. "She's incredible, and she has such a presence," she says of Cyrus. "Her personality is what shines through. I'm not close to Miley, I don't know her very well, but I feel proud of her."

Prior to this year's Sheezus album, Allen spent five years away from the studio, a gap that allowed the U.K. star to focus on her family but made it all the more difficult to leap back into mainstream music. Allen says that she also recognizes and appreciates the metamorphosis that Cyrus has had to undergo, following her days as a wholesome teen star.

"It must have been very tough for her to make that transition from the Disney star of 'Hannah Montana' into herself, essentially," says Allen. "People don't really like change in this day and age, and not only has she succeeded in changing her complete persona, but she's done it in an in-your-face way, which I love. I'm all for that kind of stuff."

Following Allen's stint on the Bangerz tour, the singer-songwriter will perform at a string of summer festivals overseas before beginning her own U.S. headlining tour on Sept. 9 in Miami. "I've been on tour [overseas] for about six months," says Allen, "and not only am I excited to be a part of Miley's tour, I'm also excited to only play for half an hour. I'm done by 7:00 o'clock. I can go to dinner!"

Check out Lily Allen's dates on Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour below:

Aug. 1: Uniondale, N.Y. (Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum)

Aug. 2: Philadelphia, Pa. (Wells Fargo Center)

Aug. 4: Pittsburgh, Pa. (CONSOL Energy Center)

Aug. 6: Charlotte, N.C. (Time Warner Cable Arena)

Aug. 7: Nashville, Tenn. (Bridgestone Arena)

Aug. 9: Louisville, Ky. (KFC Yum! Center)

Aug. 10: St. Louis, Mo. (Scottrade Center)

Sinéad O'Connor Shares a Piece of Her Mind and Reaches Out to the Godless Generation

Last year, O'Connor caused a stir when she wrote an open letter to Miley Cyrus warning her that the music industry would try to prostitute her. It was a response to the former child star's Wrecking Ball video – directed by Terry Richardson, who has been accused of predatory behaviour towards models – in which Cyrus, among other things, appears naked and licks a sledgehammer.

Does O'Connor draw a link between the recent abuse scandals and the porn culture and sexualised pop imagery we're exposed to?

"You can't take the sex out of rock'n'roll – that's really important," she says. "What bothers me is that the artists that are most sexualised look like children and their audiences are children. I don't think it's appropriate to start sexualising an artist like Justin Bieber at 15-16 years of age – he's too young to know the decision he's making. They were selling fucking pole-dancing kits at Tesco [in 2006 Tesco was criticised for selling the Peekaboo pole-dancing kit, a product it said was aimed at over-16s, but which was later removed from its website], you can get g-strings for kids… you can't be creating a society where little boys or girls are walking around with their arses hanging out. It's very dangerous, it's why we have trafficking."

She firmly refuses to discuss Mileygate, but she hasn't stopped keeping watch on other young female stars who she deems to be having a difficult time. She reveals that she recently tried to get in touch with Lana Del Rey, although she has yet to hear back. Is it a maternal instinct – she has four children, with four different fathers, the youngest seven and the oldest 27, and in her letter to Miley she wrote that her intentions were out of "motherliness" – that causes her to look out for younger stars?

She's not sure. "I guess I give a shit about people is all. And I don't know if I'm even old enough to be Britney Spears's mother, I hope I'm not [Spears is 32]. It's more that when you've been through grievous things yourself, and you see it happening to other people, you just want to snuggle them. It's the same if I saw a stranger crying in the street, I would want to go over and snuggle them because I know what it's like to cry on the street. I think that's the same for most people – we have empathy because we've been through shit ourselves."

So is it more a feeling of being wise, that you have something to teach about the music industry? She looks shocked. "I wouldn't have anything to teach anyone other than 'never get involved in it'. My advice is to run away and get a real job."

Miley Cyrus tattoos her assistant

She's a singer, performer, actress and now a tattoo artist.

The 21-year-old posted several shots on Instagram of her and her assistant and BFF Cheyne Thomas giving each other tattoos.

In one snap, Miley, wearing black latex gloves and holding a tattoo gun, is looking down at Cheyne's ankle as she prepares to give him some new ink.

The caption reads, 'BIEW', which is Miley’s nickname for Cheyne, who was working at a Starbucks before being hired by the Hannah Montana star.

In another snap, Cheyne shows off the singer's work which ended up being a rather simplistic happy face perfectly emblazoned on his ankle.

Then it was Miley's turn as she took her position lying on the table as Cheyne carefully performed his work on her ankle.

Miley has around 24 tattoos - her most recent inking being a tribute to her dog Floyd on her side with a caption which read: With a Little Help From My Friends.

She also has the word 'love' in her ear, a dreamcatcher picture on her side, an anchor on her wrist, and a Theodore Roosevelt quote on her left forearm among others.

I love my best friend more than anything in the world but I wouldn't let someone who wasn't trained tattoo me. Anyway, it's probably too late for this but... bad tattoo post?

Wiz Khalifa Explains Why Miley Cyrus Won't Be On "Blacc Hollywood"

Wiz Khalifa speaks on the Miley Cyrus record that was cut from "Blacc Hollywood", and his creative partnership with Ty Dolla $ign.

From earlier interviews, it seemed like a sure thing that Miley Cyrus would appear on Wiz Khalifa's upcoming album, Blacc Hollywood. However, when the official tracklist arrived, the singer's name was nowhere to be found. In a new interview with Billboard, Wiz explained Miley's absence, revealing it was simply the result of a clearance issue.

“It didn’t get cleared,” said Khalifa, indicating that the instrumental was picked up by someone else before they got a chance to release it. “I think somebody else ended up paying for the beat, so that song didn’t make it.”

The weeded-out rapper then spoke of his relationship with Ty Dolla $ign, a new Taylor Gang signee he's been collaborating with a lot recently. “We’re just both really, really creative,” he said of his songwriting partnership with Ty. “And that’s when the best things happen, when two people are at their best.”

Blacc Hollywood, which will be Khalifa's fifth studio album, is out August 19th.
