Inside Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Party

Gathered together on the second-biggest night, behind the actual Grammy Awards ceremony are (from left): Foo Fighters’ Nate Mendel; Robin Thicke; John Fogerty; A Great Big World’s Ian Axel; A Great Big World’s Chad Vaccarino; Fantasia; Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds; Imagine Dragons’ Ben McKee; Imagine Dragons’ Daniel Platzman; Imagine Dragons’ Wayne Sermon; Jennifer Hudson; Miley Cyrus; Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins; Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett; Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl; Foo Fighters’ Pat Smear; Lorde; T.I.; Clive Davis; Pharrell Williams.

Jennifer Hudson was one of three American Idol alums to perform at the bash. She and Fantasia were co-finalists on season three, while backup singer Allison Iraheta made it to fourth place on season eight.

Lorde (nee Ella Yelich O'Connor), who performed her hit songs "Royals" and "Team," was the talk of the party. Said [Dave] Grohl, "She was the one person I wanted to meet."

"I have so many memories [of this party]," says Fantasia, who would close out the night's performances, as Whitney Houston had done in years past. "I remember me, Faith Evans and so many of us standing in the front watching Whitney. It was very special. I'll never forget it."

Dave Grohl, who won for best rock song at this year's Grammy awards, was also one of the attendees at Davis' legendary pre-Grammy parties.

"This party is a staple," offered T.I. (pictured) "I believe it's just as important and just as highbrow as the ceremony."

Also pictured, AGBW singer Ian Axel, who would perform the band's hit "Say Something" said, "It feels like history has happened here over the last few decades. That room filled with all those people — we're going to be a little starstruck."

Singer Miley Cyrus, who rocked in pink fur from Calvin Klein's collection, was one of the performers at Clive Davis' Grammy party.

"I'm lucky, man, I got the best seat in the house," Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl marveled, looking to his right at Miley Cyrus and to his left at Lorde. Also pictured: Foo's bassist Nate Mendel (behind Cyrus) and drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Clive Davis' three-decade-long tradition brought together a family reunion on music's second biggest night.
